Veli-Matti “Vekku” Karhula

Veli-Matti “Vekku” Karhula is an old, bitter competitive gaming veteran, who believes that the modern games are too easy, gaming youth is spoiled and even the morning coffee tastes worse nowadays.

Whenever Vekku takes a break from the grumpy sulking, he’s actually got a fairly versatile appetite for games. He consumes anything ranging from point and clicks and story-driven walking sims all the way to multiplayer shooters. Vekku hopes that the varied diet keeps him adapting and learning new tricks and prevents the sluggish old brain neurons from getting too stale and rigid. He has also found his bitterness and longing for better times to be asurprisingly potent fuel for his ambitions in game development and programming.

Juha Kuosmanen

Juha is a writer and translator of silly things as a wannabe-as if-pseudojournalist for fun and occasionally for some side cash money, too, so others don’t have to, aiming for the accursed AIs to go boom. These brazen and debatable humanist qualifications he claims to have obtained with some certification doubling as a coaster in some eastern back of beyond where wolves tread to die, and with something mysterious referred to as intuition or being an embarrassing tryhard. Waiting for the gilded 90s to return, as we speak and read this nonsense, he is clearing his endless entertainment backlog, giving priority to exceedingly far too massive entities, is a collector of physical games and is also an eternal PlayStation fanboy. See ya in Eorzea, in some weird-ass JRPG or in Anulpha Pass breaking a new Zone record – back to the heavyweight JAM!

Elina Koskinen

Elina is a level 39 Pokémon trainer and a level 4697 Candy Crusher, who started her gaming career by watching her parents play Boulder Dash on Commodore 64. By day Elina is a games researcher, by night she volunteers in games related organizations (or mostly sleeps).

Arto Tammenoksa

Arto on tosi erinomainen tyyppi. Kasvatustieteilijöiden joukkoon soluttautunut filosofi pelaa paljon ja pitää peleissä erityisesti miekoista sekä pelien kinesteettisistä piirteistä ja seikkailun tunnusta. Henkevän työskentelyn ohella Arto osallistaa myös kehonsa aktiivisesti kamppailuleikkeihin.

 

 

Jukka Särkijärvi

Jukka on roolipelaaja, larppaaja, väitöskirjatutkija ja tapahtumanjärjestäjä, jonka äimistyttävä kyvyttömyys sanoa ”ei” on aikojen saatossa johtanut kaikenlaisten epätodennäköisten nakkien vastaanottamiseen. Hän kerää, lukee, tutkii ja joskus jopa pelaa pöytäroolipelejä sekä ravaa puolalaisissa linnoissa larppaamassa. Silloin harvoin, kun videopeleille löytyy aikaa, hakusessa ovat tarinankerronta, mielenkiintoiset sivuhahmot ja uudenlaiset kokemukset. Näiden puutteessa hyperväkivalta tai maailmanvalloitus kelpaavat.

Jukka is a role-player, larper, doctoral researcher, and event organizer, whose astounding inability to say “no” has led to accepting all sorts of unlikely assignments. He collects, reads, researches, and sometimes even plays role-playing games, and is a frequent traveller to Polish castles for larp. When, rarely, there is time for video games, he seeks storytelling, interesting characters, and new experiences. In their absence, hyperviolence and world conquest will do.
